The Road to Here - Part 1

It all started a long time ago, but I am going to start by saying that my husband, John and I just celebrated our two year wedding anniversary on January 23.  We have actually been together for six years!  I love him more everyday and he is a wonderful husband and now DADDY!  I am blessed beyond measure to have him in my life!  We found out we were expecting last April.  We were so excited and couldn't wait to share this news with our families.  After we went for our 20 week appointment we had a Gender Reveal Party with our family (minus my parents and brother Alex, more on that in a minute).  My sister (blog and also party planning extraordinaire) decorated my house and ordered the cake.  Everyone wore colored shirts to show what they thought we were having.  John and I cut the cake and the icing inside showed the baby's gender.  Here are a few pictures of that day...

The cake!

Everyone including myself thought it would be a boy.  We have three nieces already so everyone just thought it had to be a boy!  John and I each wore a different color to throw everyone off because we had already found out.

 It's a GIRL!

My parents and brother were gone to a baseball tournament in CHICAGO!  I didn't want them to be left out so I called a bakery in Chicago, Sweet Pea Cakes and asked if they could help me with a big favor!  They did an absolutely wonderful job at making and delivering a very large cupcake to my parents and brother at their hotel.  I also had a lot of help from Lisa Smith who was with them (her son plays on the same team).  They were very surprised to get to cut their own cake!

They thought I was just going to tell them over the phone.

I think they were surprised!  They all thought boy too!

Yummy!

Fast forward a few months....

My wonderful sister (blog, party planner, and now photographer extraordinaire) took some maternity pictures of us!  Here are some of our favorites!

Landry loved Lola in my belly but she loves her even more now!
